Welcome to my website!

Philipp Gollonitsch, BSc, MSc D.O., Independent Therapist for

PHYSIOTHERAPY & OSTEOPATHY

IN AMSTETTEN.

On the path to more ease
and quality of life.
So that movement brings joy again.

A common reason for visiting my practice is musculoskeletal complaints (e.g., back pain, neck tension, herniated disc, shoulder and knee pain, hip problems, foot pain…) – here I can offer you an active physiotherapy program as well as physiotherapeutic and osteopathic treatment techniques. Osteopathy also allows me to support you with complaints of internal organs (such as digestive problems or respiratory diseases) and the nervous system (including headaches, exhaustion, or dizziness). Furthermore, I specialize in three areas: temporomandibular joint, men’s health, and physiotherapy at the workplace.

MY SERVICES

AMSTETTEN PRACTICE

The practice is located on the ground floor of Schulstraße 9, centrally in Amstetten, and can be reached on foot from the train station in 5 minutes. Parking spaces are usually available in the short-term parking zone.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Amstetten. From 2010 to 2021, I lived in Vienna and worked as a physiotherapist, and later also as an osteopath. It was an instructive and diverse time. I am pleased that I can now apply the experience I gained back in the Mostviertel region.
It is important to me to be a point of contact for less well-known therapeutic fields such as the temporomandibular joint or men’s health.

As a physiotherapist & osteopath, I enjoy contributing to people’s well-being. I am interested in their stories. Often, the solution is obvious and simple. Sometimes I feel like a detective when I work with you to find a solution to the current problem.

FAQs

Prescription: To receive therapy from me, you need a doctor’s prescription. As a physiotherapist in Austria, I am only allowed to work with a prescription. Furthermore, the prescription ensures partial reimbursement from your health insurance fund.

The prescription should state either “Physiotherapy” (open prescription) or “10 x 60 minutes of physiotherapy” as the order. For all other variations, reductions in reimbursement are possible.

An exception is preventive treatment. If you have no complaints and wish to receive therapy as a prophylactic measure, this is possible without a prescription. In this case, however, there will be no partial reimbursement from health insurance funds.

Findings: Please bring X-ray/MRI reports, doctor’s letters, or other findings, if available. Any information can be valuable.

Towel: Please bring a large towel or sheet (at least 200x65cm) as a cover for the treatment couch for appointments in Amstetten. For appointments in Waidhofen an der Ybbs, this will be provided for you.

The first session consists of anamnesis, examination, and treatment. First, we will discuss the current problem, and I will ask you some questions. Due to my osteopathic training, I like to inquire in more detail to uncover possible connections. Defining the therapy goals is also important here.

During the examination, active and passive movement tests, as well as physiotherapeutic and osteopathic examination techniques, are performed to get to the root cause of the current problems.
Finally, treatment and an active program.

The first sessions generally take place weekly; then the interval can often be extended. A whole series of 10 sessions is not always necessary – we will coordinate this with your needs.

No, I do not offer therapy for children, but therapy for adolescents and adults.

I am an independent therapist. This means that you must pay for the therapy yourself, but you will receive a partial reimbursement from your health insurance fund.
I settle accounts in cash after each session (no debit card payment possible) and you will receive a payment receipt. At the end of the therapy series, you will receive a total invoice, which you can submit to your health insurance fund along with the doctor’s prescription.

Prices:
Initial session of 60 minutes: €120
Follow-up session of 45 minutes: €100

For low-income individuals, a social rate may be available if needed and if there are open slots.

If you cancel an appointment on the same day or do not show up, the full session will be charged.

“Physiotherapists specialize in movement development and control and possess the expertise to maintain, promote, restore, and improve movement and functional ability as well as quality of life. They are experts in movement across all life stages and situations and work in various medical fields.” (www.gesundheit.gv.at)

“Osteopathy is a holistic method that uses hands for diagnosis and therapy. The most important principles are the functioning of the human body as a unit, its ability for self-regulation and self-healing, as well as the interplay of structure and function.”

“The goal of osteopathic treatment is to correct restrictions in the mobility of structures and tissues, thereby restoring physical and mental well-being.” (https://wso.at/osteopathie-gesamtausbildung/was-ist-osteopathie-gesamtausbildung)

“Fascia are part of the human connective tissue and form the basic framework of the human body. If these fascia are affected by an injury, an accident, or daily strain, pain and functional limitations can arise.”

“The practical application of the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) enables rapid therapy for these complaints. Through a targeted examination, the causative factors are identified and corrected by the trained FDM doctor or therapist using specific manual techniques.”

“The goal of every FDM intervention is the anatomical correction of the fascia. If the change in shape is corrected, an immediate improvement in load capacity, mobility, and/or pain reduction can be expected. Long rest periods are usually unnecessary, and a quick return to activity is possible.”
